Sorry if this is the wrong sub for this but I can't find one for getting advice on colleges a student is interested in or college suggestions. If this is out of place, I'd appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction.
So I'm a 20 yr old college student with freshman status after 2 abysmal years at Sonoma State University. My 2 years there consisted of lots of medical withdrawals and shitty grades, and I've decided to take my talents elsewhere in this beautiful country of ours while spending less money replacing grades so I can get a better GPA and transfer to a more prestigious university.
I'm really interested in going the community college route now because I'm willing to travel. I think it's a beautiful thing that if you're willing to travel for community college you can pretty much go anywhere you want in this big country of ours. The problem is out of state tuition varies wildly. I haven't seen anything under $7000, and I've seen as high as $16,000, which anything over $10,000 is pretty much completely out of the question.
I love big cities, but I would also love to spend a couple years in a small or medium-sized town so long as it has a fun community and a charming environment. I'm from So-Cal Suburbia, so I want to experience something different than the bubble I grew up in. Literally every state is in the running. Can any Redditers think of community colleges with out of state tuitions below $9000 (much lower if possible) that are in awesome locations around the country? If you don't know much about their tuitions, just a recommendations for cool schools would be helpful. Most are within my budget, although if there's states/schools notably cheaper than what I've been coming across ($7000-$9000) they would be of the highest preference to me.
Thanks, and sorry again if this is the wrong sub.
