I've noticed as time goes by it's harder and harder to find legitimate primary source information. There is a war on information, and I'm starting to wonder just how difficult it is to find facts. Of course, there will always be bias sites, videos, organization that want to push their agenda selling you "their facts" but what about a person that wants to look at the facts and decide for themselves what it all means? This is down right frustrating, and I know it's intentional. Search engines are being corrupted in such a way to avoid specificly bringing up truly relevant hits, instead it will bring up page after page of garbage. For example, I want to look up statistics of reported rape in Sweden. I want to know what the facts are, and I believe we all deserve to have a way to find facts right? So if I search "Sweden rape statistics" undoubtedly I will only get a bunch of garbage, irrelevant opinion pieces and articles that don't site where they get their information. I can't even manage to find what organization in Sweden would be responsible for handling that information. At least if i knew how to get to the primary source of information, I could side step all this nonsense and get straight to the point but I can't even find out that information. I've noticed that if you want to find about some neutral or "safe" subjects, it's not all that difficult to find legit information but when it comes to a controversial subject, it's damn near impossible to find anything legitimate. I don't want to watch the News, I don't want to read some article from some person, I don't want to listen to politicians and bureaucrats, I want to look at primary source data and come up with my own conclusion. How am I supposed to do that? I've never felt more discouraged and outraged, feeling like I'm living in a box where information isn't something I'm allowed. Has research become impossible? I will gladly take suggestions, I just want a way to find legitimate primary source data.
