I'm tutoring a kid and he's from a different country and I heard from his mom that the father is an alcoholic. I'm teaching him Scratch right now but he's very quiet and only responds with one-word answers or he doesn't respond to me at all. I think this behavior comes from his father being the superior figure. My goal is to give him a voice and to open up more. Any tips? I never been in a situation like this.
