Is it unusual to teach 5 different classes?

This is my first year of teaching abroad. Last semester I was a long term sub (3 months) while the high school science teacher was on maternity leave. I taught 5 different science classes-- chem, physics, earth/space, science elective, and biology. At the end of last semester, they asked if I would step in as the middle school science teacher for the rest of the year. I was happy to do so.

I currently teach AP environmental (HS), earth/space (7th), physical science (8th), and life science (6th). I am not a teacher by trade, I have a degree in environmental sciences and am getting my license through the Teacher Ready program.

I'm also in charge of an after school club (knitting club), i'm the Student Council Advisor, and I teach english to ELL learners for an hour and a half after school each day. Of course there are the twice weekly meetings after school and certain weekend events that are mandatory also. I love teaching, but I am beyond exhausted. I'm currently suffering from a sinus infection but haven't missed a day of school because it is SO frowned upon. (end rant)

Anyways... they want me to teach again next year only they will be adding another class, so 5 in total. Like I said earlier, this is my first year so I thought that teaching this many classes was normal. Please let me know what "normal" is for middle/high school teachers! I'm struggling over here!!
