Teacher's Time is Too Valuable to...

As our district moves into using formalized PLC processes, it's important to us that we don't have teachers doing things that aren't DIRECTLY related to their work! We're a K-8 district with departmentalized middle schools, but we don't want our MS teachers doing a patchwork version of PLCs. Nor do we want our special areas teachers being wedged into a grade level. We've thought up a few ideas, but are curious if anyone out there has a strong model while being in a similar situation? Teacher's time is just to valuable to waste! I would love to hear what good you've been up to out there, or simply point me in a direction? Much, much appreciated!
