DeVos Faces Pushback Over Plan To Reroute Aid To Private School Students

You knew this push would come eventually and here it is! The long-awaited conservative push to reroute your tax dollars to private and religious schools.

While I can understand the rationale behind earmarking some of the education relief money for this sector of the education economy, I think it is a terrible precedent to set!

Private schools should be treated as private businesses are, in regards to government help. In this way, I don’t really see much difference between St. Anthony’s and AA Driving School. I believe it is in the public interest, economically, to support both through these troubles, but we shouldn’t confuse a religious school — which has a primary mission to spread the Gospel — and a public school, which is charged with developing a learned populace.
