Research and resources on Small Group Learning and Problem Based Learning in math. [x-post with /r/Teachers]

Hi all, I hope you are all enjoying a much-deserved break from the classroom. I'm currently in a position to promote both of the above in a large, urban school district through the deployment of a new math curriculum. While kids are not in school, I'm putting together a guide on the whys and and hows of each. Both are hard sells, so I want to provide the justification for why each are essential for moving our kids in the right direction, and guides on how to implement them in the classroom. Most math teachers don't use small group work in the classroom already, so I want to provide the steps for how to make it work (rules and procedures and the ilk.) If you have any research and/or resources on either, would you mind sending them my way? Thanks in advance!
