Hello! I am a professional ballet dancer in Rhode Island and someone gave me the idea to contact some private schools and give them my information in case anyone is interested in after-school private lessons. I have a lot of teaching experience so this is something I would be interested in. I did some research on private schools around the area and there are even some that offer summer programs for various activities, and after-school programs as well. I have years of management experience from a previous side job and think it would be cool to implement dance/beginner ballet in some of these programs.
Do you have any advice on what approach might work best for contacting some of these schools? I'd essentially like to offer my credentials, my ideas for creating a dance program, and also that I do private lessons if there is anyone interested.
Should I include things like why dance is beneficial for children, etc?
I have done a lot of outreach and one-day workshops at schools in New England (and last summer I did a volunteer 1-hour dance workshop for kids at a Montessori school in Boston), but this project is one I would want to be compensated for as it would be a real endeavor. How do I bring that up?
Anything else I should take into account?
Thanks so much for any input.
