The age old question... I'm looking to start up a travel blog, and am looking to develop writing, business and marketing, and photography skills. I've never exactly been good at formal education and it feels too regimented and restrictive to my freedom. On the other hand, I love reading and educating myself on topics I feel are beneficial, and applying knowledge and theory into practice. I also hate wasting time in areas that aren't going to be very beneficial to me in the long run for the sake of credits, and college seems more to me like it's a test of your ability to pass an exam rather than acquiring actual skill and knowledge. People go through college without developing the base skills needed to perform their dream job all the time... Since I'm starting my own business and don't require any extra special credentials like a degree, is it still worth my time to seek a formal education?
