Seclusion Rooms are an issue everywhere - Inclusive Education

In Alberta, a recent cabinet order, (news) banned the use of these rooms. A recent NPR article has put together some issues with the practice.

For those of you who have had to support these rooms, what's your take? Personally, my wife is "involved on the ground", but I am not. My interest in the issue has to do with the "othering" of those who quite literally don't fit into the limited resources of the classroom. I don't think this is a situation that has an easy solution.
