Today we received work for my 7-year-old brother to complete at home. I’m not a teacher and am unsure how best to aid him in learning.
He isn’t academically strong and struggles with reading and writing at the level his peers do.
What strategies can I use to make sure he gets the best out of his homeschooling experience? For example, should I tell him how to spell a word correctly and let him copy it down, or let him write a word and correct his mistakes?
Earlier we wrote some sentences together and it was painful to watch him struggle so much. It took a long time for him to write only two sentences.
TLDR: how do you homeschool a child?
