Looking for some career advice about Masters options (UK Context)

Hi I am copy and pasting my post from r/psychologystudents as I feel both communities will have different but useful advice on the topic.

I am currently in my second year undergrad doing Psychology and Education. As much as I love this field and want to stay in it I would love to learn some more practical skills that are specific to the field. In my current degree even research practicals are extremely rare and are only provided to fulfill the BPS requirements for accreditation.

I would love to take a more practical route in my further study such as assessment, treatment or working with curricula. At the moment, I am primarily looking at Masters degrees, with the hopes of one day studying for the Educational Psychology doctorate but due to being non-resident there is a very long way to go for that.

So right now I am searching for a masters course that would provide psychology or education specific skills that I could apply earlier in my career as well as when I finally become an Educational psychologist. Predominantly I am looking into Developmental Psychology or Inclusive Education courses.

Which course do you feel would be more useful in the context of working with children with special needs? Are there courses you know that provide practical skills sought by employers (understanding of curriculum’s, assessment, treatments, etc)? Do you have any other advice concerning this topic?

Any help would be greatly appreciated and if you have any other advice I would also love to hear it! Thank you and I hope you and your close ones are staying safe!
