Hello, it's my first time posting here. I'm not sure if this is allowed or what community to write my question in. My uncle asked me if I can read books and ask questions regarding the book with my 1st-grade cousin who has an intellectual disability. When school was in person, I know he was part of a special education class. His mom once told my mom what he had before she left the picture. But my mom forgot what she said. Now my mom feels it is rude to ask my uncle so I can't be sure what he has. My cousin used to have trouble listening and sitting down previously before he entered school. Now he is calmer but sometimes has a hard time listening to the word No. His first language is Spanish but his English is pretty good since starting school. My uncle is a single dad who is busy working, leaving his 1st grade and kindergarten son home with remote learning. How does one help a child improve his reading skills while keeping it fun and keeping his attention? I don't want him to be behind once things come back to normal. Tips could be greatly appreciated!
