I wonder if it's a good idea to group the students. I'll let them choose their desired seating position between two different areas. The students who want to learn would sit at front, so they would sit closer to me and they could discuss with the ones that wanna learn.
The ones that use Tiktok, Instragram and whatever crap they desire, would sit at the back. I won't bother managing the slackers as long they keep quiet and don't hurt others. They can talk to each other discretely, but not loudly.
When I was in college, the teacher always grouped me with students that gossiped about Kim Kardashian or Taylor Swift, and such students had zero motivation. While other groups always got students with great passion. And I am not gonna let good students experience or encounter the buffoonery I had before.
Since the public education is already offering everyone a chance, there's no use to accuse me of being unfair or hateful to the students. They don't wanna learn, and I don't wanna force them either. They already have a chance.
