Hundreds of academic staffs from public universities got suspended while Myanmar military junta force to reopen universities.

As the universities reopen with few staffs loyal to junta students boycott the university by not attending at all. Junta make a plan to reopen the public universities by forcing four month semester into six week semester while giving a pass to exams suspended by Covid pandemic. They started their plan by opening fourth year student's classes first who only need one semester to graduate. Only few percent of students decided to graduate with their new plans.

University campuses are also being occupied by military forces with checkpoints just to enter into the campus.

Myanmar long oppressing regime once used the education as part of their propaganda tool. Academic freedom were also just started to get back with educational reform on previous status quo democracy government.
