Hi all! I'm a 7th year educator hoping to eventually bust into education policy. A few weeks ago, I applied for my first position in my state's department of education. It's reaching the end of the year and I am up for an in-district transfer to a more desirable position, and I'm in the middle of holding my breath for the DOE position while having to push full-steam ahead on this transfer position in case it doesn't work out, and it is stressing me the heck out. Is it appropriate in our field to give the DOE a call and inquire about my application? It is still labeled as 'under review" in the applicant portal, but I don't know if that will change at all if I've been eliminated. Any feedback from anyone with experience working at their state level agency would be helpful. Thanks!
