Want to get some feedback on the distinction between learning a subject by going to college or reading a book. Going to college would probably challenge individual through reading chapters, discussions, essays, homework, exams, etc. While reading a book is more set stone on up-taking information, but not necessarily applying at as you would in school.
Reason for this is say, I want to learn Communication to a professional level, with no intention of getting a job, but just have a degree to show I have accomplished something. Or should I just read thick textbooks on communication? 1 thick textbook a month for a year is not even equivalent to a 4 year communication degree. My vote goes to learning more by reading with some actual practice in the real world than spending obtaining huge amount of debt on tuition.
