Senior seminar

This summer I am doing a directed study for my senior seminar in history, and I was not ready for what the professor said about the topic. "Anything historical that you find interesting can be your topic.

So I can write on anything I want....that's a burden because there is a lot of interesting topics that I can write on. In fact, there isn't a lot that I do not find interesting, and I could write a paper looking at the history of any of theme. Science, philosophy, social issues, politics, history (the history of history even).

How do I narrow it down so I can have an actual topic. I need to go from anything and everything to focused on about 2 weeks. Tips?
