Studying 101: Studying Smarter for Biology 102
I'm sure all of us have done it... countless and countless of hours of writing down notes, reviewing material and studying. If you are a student or are going to school you can definitely understand the amount of time and reviewing it takes so that you are able to pass your next quiz or test.
In my situation, I'm currently studying for a class that I'm taking called "Biology 102: Genes, Behavior & Evolution" and preparing for the mid-term we having coming on Monday. In order for me to be successful for this test and this class, I have to learn how to study smarter and not harder.
The process of studying for this exam consists of starting from Week 1 and the lecture notes I've been taking every week. Making sure I review those notes and going over week-by-week each of the topics discussed in class can definitely help as this mid-term only consist of material from the first few weeks of class. Another study tip that can help me in this class would be going over the materials in our lab that we go to twice each week. Materials such as our Biology Journal and the textbook bought from the bookstore can definitely help me with this test as the lab material is essentially your work being demonstrated through science. Being able to work on something by hand and creating the connection between one topic to the other will absolutely make sure that I do well on this test.
Most importantly...
A very smart studying tip that will help me and I'm sure every other student out there.
Make sure to get a good night sleep, eat a good meal and drink a lot of water. Things like this will dramatically help in the course of studying and doing well on a test as sleep deprivation and being hungry or thirsty can affect a person's mood, energy level, ability to focus. This can also affect a student's ability to concentrate and learn and when affected can affect your academics.
Overall, after countless and countless of hours of writing down notes and reviewing material to help you get prepared for your next quiz or test. Make sure to get a good night sleep, eat a good meal and drink a lot of water. This will all affect your ability to concentrate and learn and when done right, I'm sure your next quiz or test will be very successful.
