So the new trend as of late is large corporations, primarily technology companies, that fund classes at public schools. They claim it is to promote education and technology awareness but at the same time they heavily push their products. For example, amazon or google will fund these courses and then give "student" memberships to have the student be able to use the company's products.
It does seem well intentioned but at the same time it is quite obvious they are basically trying to take over public school curriculum and basically turn it into a sort of "product placement" type advertisement. They do the same thing by offering "coding lessons" or "coding bootcamps" but these courses are heavily biased towards using the sponsor's products exclusively it is built right into the lesson plans.
What does everyone think of this?
