“We have made far too many errors in judgment over the last two years — and this is par for the course,”
This quote made me angry. Discrimination, indulging in corruption over an extended period of time, and keep on doing so in the cases of the wealthy that secure a spot through sizable donations are not "error in judgment". Colleges and universities must realize they are preparing the professionals of the future, that they have an active hand in the socio-economical composition of society. When more and more students gain access by donations and cheating, taking the place of worthy students, the quality of the education and that of the scientists and professionals graduated diminishes.
Trust and reputation must be kept and guarded every day, every hour and every second. Indulging in corrupt practices, allowing the lowering of the quality will chip away from a commodity hard to recover. Does money worth the hollowing of a name that ends up only in a name?
