The go-to nowadays, especially in the US, is to go to the doctor, get an antibiotic, feel better. A few months later... go to the doctor, get an antibiotic, feel better.
What I wish we would focus on more is prevention of disease instead of the treatment of that particular disease. I’m not just talking about big diseases: There are many diseases that are genetic and we cannot control. I’m talking more about that twice a year cold, that particular allergy season, etc.
I am so thankful for our doctors and health care in America, but I feel sometimes it is a revolving door. I wish we would focus more on prevention instead of treatment: eating ACTUAL healthy foods & banning harmful ingredients in our foods, using natural remedies, etc.
Side note::: When a child is not feeling well, it is usually due to stress or needing rest, especially if that child doesn’t miss a lot of school or doesn’t have “sick” symptoms. In the education system, a doctor’s note is required.... Meaning pay a copay (mine is $30) just for the doctor to tell you to go home, rest, & drink some more fluids. Most of us already know that. I don’t appreciate how the education systems deal with excuses. In my opinion, its basically saying “take a day off, rest, take it easy, but bring back your $30 school excuse.” :)
