Why do teachers leave their positions where they leave, and why do they stay where they stay?

I'm writing my dissertation on teacher retention. I'm interested in good articles/studies to read for my lit review and what interview questions you all recommend me asking teachers and administrators about why teachers stay. (Specifically teachers and administrators in poor schools that uncharacteristically have high retention rates.)
