I suppose such an approach cannot be fully implemented for children of such a young age - but can there be a compromise?
For example, is it possible that the teacher remains in control of what content to teach + time management, but the child has control in setting the specific learning objectives? Or is it better for the child to have control over something else, such as what activities they want to do in order to understand the material?
