What content would you recommend for someone looking to understand K-12 Education?

Hi all, hope everyone's staying well. I am new to this community and I am joining an education technology organization, coming from a background in financial services (lol).

I'm aiming to understand the K-12 space as best I can, particularly from the lens of district administrators, technology directors, curriculum directors, and behavioral specialists, and would love all of your recommendations for:

  • Reading (books, newsletters, blogs, even other subreddits)
  • Podcasts (I'm guessing there are some NPR productions that might be worth investigating)
  • Videos (YouTube channels, documentaries, interviews, TV shows)
  • Anything else I can find or order online!

Your help is much appreciated! Assume I know nothing and am just ready to spend the next several months learning as someone who was never a former educator but has a passion for equity and student success from a social-emotional learning standpoint.
