Advice for people starting a software-related programme at university

As I way of rounding off my own BSc. (Hons) in Computing I have written a short guide for people looking to do the same.

From the abstract:

This guide is for students starting their programme in a software-related subject. Most aspects are covered: choosing a programme, preparing, and studying.

It may also be useful for educators to understand things from a student's perspective.
