Hi fellow educators!
I would love to know if anyone has any recommendations for a quicker cleaning process at the end of the school day.
With the onset of Covid we’ve been left to sanitize every single object/material that is touched or could have been touched by a child. As someone who is in grad school while working full time, I’m losing a good two hours from my day after work just from cleaning.
My school can’t afford to hire a cleaning person and we also have to make sure that what was touched was cleaned so it really depends on the teachers knowing what was and wasn’t touched.
Additionally, we have to switch our materials in between art and music between classes (we have a rotating classroom schedule) so we are cleaning double the materials at the end of the day as well.
I know that cleaning is crucial, this year especially, but there has to be some sort of life hack out there? Literally anything that can make this more efficient because I’m not in grad school to become a janitor. I spend more time cleaning than I do with the kids, and every suggestion brought up to my supervisor gets shut down. Any recommendations are welcome!!
Thanks in advance!!!
Signed, an exhausted preschool teacher with cracked hands
