Now what??

So I’m pretty pissed off, today Midlakes Middle School treated my daughter questionably. As well as made demands and threats to me beyond what they had any right to do. So my 13 year old daughter has been struggling with mental health issues recently. One such symptom that many people experience is issues with sleep. My daughter is no exception. This morning she went to school extremely tired. She was falling asleep in class and told them she was tired and didn’t get any sleep. Mind you this is not the first time the school had seen her be sleepy. I was actually working together along with the school to address her needs. Other times when this has happened the immediately call me. But today officer Hollinger and the dean of students decided that my daughter was on drugs and they were going to interrogate her to find out what she was on. The officer kept telling my daughter if you don’t tell us what you took we are going to call 911 take you to the hospital and get the actual police involved. So anyway I’m doing dishes and I miss call from the school. So the call then goes to my mother in law. They told her someone needed to pick. My daughter up and take her to be seen by a Dr because she is in fact on drugs. I immediately call the nurses office and she wouldn’t tell me anything except I needed to talked to the officer or the dean of students. I couldn’t get through to the officer but was able to reach the dean. He then told me it was determined by the officer that my daughter was in fact on drugs. That I needed to come immediately get her and take her to the Dr or they would send her by ambulance and call CPS. Now I know my daughter she doesn’t use drugs. I had spoken to her when I called the nurses office. My daughter was in fact just extremely tired. So we picked her up, and she was telling me what had happened. The officer wouldn’t let up no matter how many times my daughter told him I am not on drugs. He just kept making threats to call the police. So my daughter felt like she has to say she was on something to get this man to stop. So she said mommy I said the least harmful kind of drug I could think of. I said I took a hit off vape. So I take my daughter to the emergency room in Clifton spring explain the situation and ask them to drug test her and check her over to insure that she was not on drugs just extremely tired. After talking with my daughter they said they didn’t know what right the school has to treat the situation the way they did. My daughter was tested and absolutely no drugs were found in her system. I’m going to have to choose my next steps here very carefully. Because I feel like my daughter was treated unfairly.
