Hey people, is there anyone out there who can reference research papers/studies that provide a valid basis for weighting different assignment categories for calculating class grades? I teach high school science and have racked my brain for years wanting a grading system that is justified by more than my hunches.
*I'm NOT looking for what individuals think about the practice of weighting quizzes more than homework for instance, I'm looking for scholarly articles on the subject in general. I have looked through hundreds of papers to try and find some basis but haven't yet. Thanks
