To start off, I am not the best at math. I took algebra two last year and managed to end the year with an a, but got a one on the state exam ( the lowest score you can get). I truly try my hardest to understand math. I went to every tutoring my teacher offered, did all my homework to the best of my abilities, watched lots videos, and stayed up late plenty of nights trying to actually get it. After failing the exam I somehow managed to get into trigonometry honors. I did not get to attend the first class (which was yesterday) because I was stuck in my schools media center getting my schedule fixed. Today was my first day in the class. There was a quiz(which i surely failed). There's nothing I can do about that though because it's my own fault for missing the class instruction yesterday. Other than that we learned a new concept today. I could barely keep up when taking notes and had a challenge understanding the content. Most of the overall grade for the class is based on quizzes and test, both of which I am not the best at taking. I have the option available to drop the class, as it is not a requirement for graduation, but I am not sure if that is a good decision. Is stopping at trigonometry something that could potentially make it harder to get into colleges or would I be someone considered with no math skills and undesirable in the work force? I am not at all sure what I want to do with my future but I do know that I have no plan of going into a field field that involves math. My strong area is definitely English and I plan on taking ap English classes in the coming years. I am in a program that allows you to graduate high school with your associates degree as well. Do you think all that would make up for my lack of math? Thank you so much in advance.
TLDR: I'm terrible at math and am considering dropping out of trigonometry. I am unsure if this is a good idea.
