My daughter is 5 years old and turns 6 in March. She attended a private pre k and was set to start kindergarten there this fall. The school was an excellent fit.The location, quality, and price were right for us. We were informed this May that there would not be a Kindergarten this fall, but a "bridge year" instead. The public school we are zoned to is absolutely out of the question and we have not found another private school that works for us. She has tested into kindergarten, but her pre k teacher said the bridge year would help with emotional maturity. If we went for bridge year she would be 7 for the 2nd half of 1st grade and graduate HS at 19. Would this bridge year hold her back in the future?
