How world history is teached in your country?

In Italy, I found there is much discontinuity. Example:

1-Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia, cradle of civilization. Then Crusades against Islam.

2-Ancient Greece - Roman Empire divided - Ottoman Empire briefly mentioned in WW1

3-Caesar conquers Gallia - Charlemagne - Louis XIV - France Revolution

4-Columbus voyage - American Revolution - Migration of italians to USA - USA won the world wars

4-Caesar expedition in Britannia - Beheading time and Anglican Schism - Industrial Revolution
