Please help share the word - founding new school!

Hey fellow redditors and teachers. I don't have many social media connections so I'm trying to share how I can. There is a new charter school forming in San Marcos, TX. The school is being formed and headed by a retired Air Force veteran who has been in the education system for almost a decade, and has put a great deal of hours into caring for a understanding students' individual needs and perhaps where the public school system has failed them.

The school goes by the name of CLEAR Charter. Their acryonym stands for the five key components of community, leadership, empowerment, achievement and resiliency. Innovations they hope to implement to improve teaching and learning for students from all backgrounds include:

Multi-Year Looping

Teachers will follow students for multiple years in order to build community relationships, target individual goals and increase overall student achievement.

Community School Partnership

Reality Based Learning

Service Based Learning

Family/School Connections

Mastery Based Progression

Progress will be measured with individual student goals, narratives and portfolios.

While it won't be up and kicking for another year, he's trying to get the word out to teachers, parents of students, etc. This organization really wants to focus on STEAM: science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics to hone in on skills these students have and develop them to succeed in those skills that they excel in.

I figure that I'd have more of a chance to get the word out here and maybe it will exponentially grow if a few people see then more people will. I think it's great what this school wants to do, and knowing the founder personally, he does truly care about the students.
