High school Math and physics classes are unproductive in the classroom setting.

I’m a junior in high school taking physics and algebra 2. Math and physics are amazing and can be used in so many ways but I feel like I am missing out on the actual potential of these subjects. There are too many students in the class and most of them aren’t there to learn but rather just to get through school. This restricts the people, myself included, that want to do something useful with the knowledge that can be acquired through these subjects. Any advice for what I should do to improve my education?
