How is it possible that in Redwood City, CA; part of the bay area. Some students depend on fundraising conducted by teachers such as this https://ift.tt/2TPsLiO to have experiences that others take for granted? Isnt this the wealthiest city on earth?

Disclaimer: my girlfriend is a teacher so I'm a bit bias. But as an engineer here, I can't believe that there is such a contrast between one block and the other. I can't understand an education system is so broken, that a school minutes away form many of the tech gigantis campuses can have such a hard time providing for the students.
