also, i'm not a lousy student, i do all of my work and do it well, but i'm not a nerd either. i've been to three schools with very different learning environments - one school only had 13 students, so learning was very individualised but it left me behind socially. - one school was completely focused on rules and political correctness. as an example, a few kids listened to explicit music in class (with headphones in, no young kids around), it got banned, a few kids were distracted in class so they banned almost every app from our ipads, which is what we used for learning. at one point we couldn't make any physical contact with any students. everything was to make a good example for younger students. it was very weak in science, language and teaching students with above average grades but was pretty good in all other areas of learning. the last year i was there, they switched to almost completely digital work. - my current school has a mix of good and bad teachers, i get a moderate amount of homework but that will increase as i go on. we get a bit of freedom but it's not like we can do whatever. we get a balance of work in books and computers. we get to move around quite a lot, we get to do a lot of electives and get a good balance of time in classrooms and activities out of school. right now, this is my ideal learning environment.
