Are local schools closing for the rest of the year?

Hi,

I work at a small elementary school in a small suburb of CA and we are scheduled to be shut down until the first week of May. However, the buzz around the school and schools nearby is that we are closing for the rest of the year. Do you guys think this is true for areas you work at?

I feel sad because it was my first year working here and a lot of the students I work with won’t be at the school next year and I don’t think I’ll be back working there either. The staff was all really friendly as well and I had a great time working there. It’s just a bad way to go out and I didn’t think it’ll go like this. No closure, whatsoever.
