In the midst of these uncertain times I am deeply concerned that long-term school closures and the possibility of an economic recession will make it very hard for new/transferring teachers to find jobs in the 2020-21 school year. Does anybody have any informed opinions on this? Maybe teachers who were working/getting started during the 2008 financial crisis?
I have been teaching for 3 years and was considering moving to a new district at the end of the school year. However, given so many uncertainties, I may decide to stay put. My contract requires that I make a decision by April 15 if I want to keep my benefits through the end of the summer. Any advice would be hugely appreciated! Thank you!
