Too old to get a degree?

I'm 29 and I've recently been accepted to start a degree next year. I'm just in the process of choosing my modules and finalising student finance and up until this weekend just gone, I was so excited.

I'm going to be doing the course part time as it'll fit around my current work schedule and having that option will really help me take more time on it. Part time is 6 years so I'll graduate when I'm 35.

I told my mother this as I need her details for student finance and her response was "but you'll be too old when you graduate". And honestly, it's put a big dampener on the whole thing for me.

I think I'm just looking for a bit of reassurance. Is it feasible to get a job in the sector you've graduated in at 35? Obviously provided work has been done towards it.
