Teachers are working hard in their jobs but are confronted with more challenges than ever. In my opinion they are not only having the task of educating kids or young adults but they also have to deal with the problems of our time. Digitization, inclusion, ... Friends of mine working in the educational sector told me that very often they spend a significant amount of time in acting more as a social worker or therapist than focusing on educating his or her pupils.
I started a company which will target the self-educational sector and the education system, starting with universities. Our mission: Make knowledge stick.
- What are the problems with education? Especially with the impact of technology?
- If you are a teacher what are your biggest pain points? Do you think bureaucracy is a big problem? I figured those big institutions whether public or private tend to save money at the operational level and not in the administrative block, what do you think?
- Do you know any private companies tackling the issue of (global) education?
- Some people here interested in testing our web page?
- Do you think there should be more time distributed in the educational system to decision making? I think so because nowadays people (especially children or young adults) are increasingly confronted with a multitude of decisions, whether in a physical or digital environment.
- Do you think there should be more time distributed to classes teaching how “understanding” or the process of “internalizing knowledge” works? I personally think that these two skills are very fundamental with the possibilities we are having now with the increasing supply of technology, like skillshare, youtube videos and so on. (this issue is what we are tackling first with our startup - Kapeeto)
