I was thinking about this today - I graduated from a 4 year university in political science.
I thought it was kind of ludicrous because it’s kind of like asking someone to take 4 years to learn a job. I don’t think I would have needed 4 years - maybe 1 or 2 at most.
I’m curious about people who are in the hard sciences like math, science, and computer programming etc - does it really take 5 or 6 years to learn what you learned or is it an arbitrary distinction ?
What about med school ?
Seems like it’s just unreasonably long because the AMA wants to restrict the growth of new doctors both for standards AND to prevent wages from coming down due to oversupply of doctors.
