My child’s school is making us list his primary language as according to his race and not English even though he only speaks and is fluent in English. They say that if we list his primary language as English, then he won’t be “monitored”.

We tried to get it through their heads that he doesn’t need to be “monitored” because English is his only language and he does well in his reading and writing classes already. They ended up listing him as primarily speaking my wife’s and my native language which is completely wrong and I worry they will treat him differently based on his race.
