So I am posting from my company account as it's relevant to what I do. I am a pre-sales engineer for Hornetsecurity. We are a cloud-based email security & compliance company. I love the company, the leadership and what I do. I want to further my education starting in 2020. I feel that security & privacy should be relevant pretty close until I retire (I am 29, retiring at 60). I just completed my masters in Information Systems. I plan on teaching locally (1 class at a time) in Information Security if possible. But I am curious what are some other things I can do in order to further my education and benefit my employer.
Some options include:
- Specific Certificates in cyber security or privacy
- CompTIA Certifications (haven't done any yet but can pass the first few basics easily)
- Moving on to Doctoral Degree (is this possible to do while working?)
Just curious if anyone here would like to throw some idea's my way. I have reached out to my leadership as they have been an excellent guide but more answers are better. What of the things I love is, my leadership has always broken down idea's for personal growth and growth that helps the company (such as what I did). Comparing both from a pretty unbiased opinion which is pretty awesome!
