Washington state teacher here wondering if, to advance my payscale to the Masters level, if the Masters had to be in education.

I just want to know what my options are, and I'm having trouble figuring out if I need a masters in education to advance the payscale or if I can get a masters in virtually anything. Obviously I want it to be relevant and helpful, but it may be beneficial to explore other options if I have them.
