Which is more important? Undergrad or grad school? Can you switch focuses entirely?

About to graduate. I had planned forever to go to medical school but over the years I’ve decided t may not be right for me. Just for work life balance, etc. I majored in psychology (and neuroscience minor, my school doesn’t have a neuro major) and music performance. That was great for pre mes because it made me unique for applications. And i do love music. And neuroscience is a passion of mine (I’ve never been a social psychology person. This was just the closest i could get to neuroscience).

I have taken all the classes for premed and I have a 3.97 GPA. Through my college, despite my psych major, most of my classes have been biological. I looooooove chemistry. And orgo. And biochemistry. And GENETICS. If I had to do it again, I would have been chemistry and bioE double with minor in music but so it goes.

I think about going to grad school for bioengineering or genetics (or both!!!). I have tons of ideas but feel like I don’t know where to put it. How to accomplish these ideas.

I just wonder how bad I’ve fucked up with my majors. Am I stuck with what i have? Would i have to go back to undergrad or can I go on to grad schools to do a kinda 180 and learn so many new things? Will I not be taken seriously with what i have?
