As the title says. My English department has shifted entirely to earned honors instead of an honors track. The only exception are AP classes which are still standalone courses.
Students opt into earned honors at the beginning of the course and then complete personal projects that take their regular class work to a deeper level. So the idea isn't that they're just doing "more" necessarily but that they're building off what's already being done in the class.
It's an extremely young program with a ton of growing pains.
What has worked for people and what has been a challenge?
