Hi, Im a mature aged student (25) returning to uni mid year. I have previously studied bachelor/Masters in environment. After 3 years of work i have found it just isnt for me. I have always had a keen interest in public policy and economic news/frameworks. FYI im in Australia so student debt isnt a major factor.
I have been accepted into commerce and law. My issue with my previous studies is that I wasn't sure about what I liked, and subsequently choose topics I didn't have any passion for and im paying the price now.
If I was to go for my interest, I would choose commerce with an economics major. However, my understanding is that many eco major complete further study and move into advisory roles following this. Tbh im only looking to study an additional 3 years, so post grad doesn't appeal to me.
What other roles are economic majors qualified for? I'm leaning towards law because I perceive it as more versatile.
Also how strong would ones math/data analysis skills need to be? My current role involves a significant amount of data analysis and its not my strong point.
Thanks, sorry for the rant.
