Need help:

Hi. I’m in high school and have just moved to a different state; in basic classes where I had high 70s + low-mid 80s, I’m getting straight 100s on every test, but because of the bureaucracy that is the public school system, they refuse to move me up a class. I guess this is more a problem with the country, but I fell like I am legitimately wasting my time; everyone is stupid here and the magnet school admissions have already closed. I was wondering whether it would make sense to quit this awful school, solely focus on the GED for a couple months and get straight As and a 4.0 gpa (out of 4 lol). I understand that this is unconventional and it would be a little tough to pull it off, but I’m about to turn the minimum age in my state to take the test…

If I do choose to do this, certain colleges require high school teacher referrals (even if they accept the ged) and I wonder how one is able to get past this.

I guess this may lower my shot, but because of my unique situation, I’m hoping they could look past this and see my grades.

I’m also hesitant to go to a community college to peruse my education and interests because I’ll then have to transfer, which will also most likely lower my shot further.

Please help!
