Advice on going to college at 36 years old.

Here's my story.

I'm a 36 year old male. I am married with 3 young children. My wife an I both have full time jobs. I work as a custodian.

I never finished high school. I was abused by my step father, and became addicted to drugs at the age of 14. (I've been clean, now, for almost 20 years).

I have been thinking about going back to school, and becoming a child and youth counselor.

My question is for anyone that has gone back to school at an older age. What was your experience like, and how did you make out?
