I am having problems finding the official statistics for literacy rates in the United States, could someone please help me?

I couldn't find it with my census.gov search.

CIA factbook doesn't seem to list United States itself, the site Schoolmoney.org quotes CIA Factbook as saying 99.0%, but that the National Center for Education Statistics NCES reports 14% illiteracy (whose data is based on estimation and also restricted and requires a licence to see).

Worldbank.org says it has no data, and data in the Wikipedia article Literacy In The United States is based on a study from 1982 and was apparently highly criticized. Wikipedia's List Of Countries By Literacy specifically lacks data for the United States.

I also can't find it in the OECD report either.

World Bymap doesn't list it.

Could someone please help me? I really tried researching it on my own... Thanks!
